Computer Systems Administrator

 

Extraordinarily intelligent, resourceful, articulate individual sought to provide internal technology support for our Client,

a highly successful investment and technology development firm.

While we welcome applications for this position from outstanding computer scientists and engineers,

we are looking for exceptional raw ability more than specific technical experience,

and would gladly hire a truly brilliant and capable generalist, regardless of background,

if he or she had a serious commitment to the position.

The person we hire will be responsible for dealing with a wide range of technical issues,

involving desktop PC technologies as well as Unix, networking, and telecommunications.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills

and a high degree of comfort with computer technology (programming ability a plus, though not a requirement).

We are seeking an exceptionally well-qualified candidate, and are prepared to offer a highly attractive compensation package

Junior Networking Engineer

 

We seeks an exceptionally gifted individual for the role of Junior Network Engineer in its IT Systems group.

Candidates should have excellent network management, troubleshooting, and communication skills,

as well as the ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a high-paced, demanding environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Support the group’s global network infrastructure

·         Deploy state-of-the-art multi-vendor networking gear

·         Document LAN troubleshooting/installation policies and procedures

 

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline

·         1+ years of experience working in an Enterprise or ISP network management role

·         Good knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (including Layers 2, 4-7, and content switching)

·         Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco network gear

·         Good understanding of LAN networking technologies (Spanning-Tree, HSRP, and VRRP)

·         Understanding of network routing protocols (OSPF and BGP)

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills

Senior Networking Engineer

Candidates should have superb network design, implementation, and troubleshooting skills,

as well as strong programming skills and an excellent understanding of best-of-breed network management practices.

·         Develop scalable network designs for both our campus and global networks

·         Identify, research, and evaluate emerging network technologies

·         Develop and implement network management and related tools

·         Engineer solutions for the firm's growing, highly-resilient network infrastructure

 

Requirements:

·         5-7 years experience with enterprise-level network design

·         Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline

·         Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-class routers and switches (Cisco experience a plus)

·         Superior understanding of network routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, and MPLS)

·         Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis

·         In-depth understanding of network security and access control

·         Experience with VoIP, QoS, and IP Telephony technologies

Senior UNIX Administrator

The person we hire will work with the Client’s highly-skilled 20-person IT systems staff and will be responsible for:

 

·         Solaris and Linux related research projects:

o        5-7 years experience with enterprise-level network design

o        Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline

o        Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-class routers and switches (Cisco experience a plus)

o        Superior understanding of network routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, and MPLS)

o        Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, including packet-level traffic analysis

o        In-depth understanding of network security and access control

o        Experience with VoIP, QoS, and IP Telephony technologies

Senior Windows Architect

 

Extraordinarily intelligent and resourceful individual sought to help architect next-generation Microsoft Windows infrastructure

for the Client. 

The person we hire should be capable of conceptualizing, building, and deploying systems management and automation technologies for both Windows servers and a large body of Windows PC clients. 

He or she will work both independently and with our 25-person systems staff on substantial design and research projects within the Windows environment.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Develop scalable Windows systems for both our campus and global networks

·          Identify, research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies

·          Develop and implement management and related tools

·          Engineer solutions for the firm's growing, highly-resilient Windows infrastructure

 

Requirements:

·          5+ years of hands-on experience with server applications in a Microsoft networked environment

·          High level of expertise in the following areas:

o        Windows 2000/2003 Server (including IIS)

o        Exchange 2000/2003 Server

o        SQL 2000 Server

o        Active Directory management

o        Security management (including Group Policy Objects)

o        TCP/IP networking

·          Some expertise with UNIX administration

·          Some expertise with LAN network administration

·          Excellent knowledge of server hardware and strong problem-solving skills

Level 1 Systems Technician (temp to perm)

 

Client seeks an intelligent, motivated, and reliable assistant to join its Systems department. 

Primary responsibilities include hardware and software maintenance of desktop PCs and laptops,

as well as network add/move/changes, QA testing, and inventory maintenance. 

Assistants will have the opportunity to work with new technologies and state-of-the-art equipment.

The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills, solid PC hardware and

Windows OS knowledge, and a strong desire to learn. 

Very little previous experience is required, but some background in basic telecom, networking,

and Level I desktop support is a definite plus.
